Too Cold to Ride

January 15, 2009

It hasn’t been this cold here in the Milwaukee area for almost 20 years. With wind chills of -30 degrees, it’s hard to think riding motorcycles. The good news – it’s not this cold everywhere. This is the time to think about going down south. The Daytona and Arizona Bike Weeks are right around the corner.

You and your bike can stay warm when you try a fly and ride. Make the airline arrangements for yourself and then call  HaulBikes to ship your bike. Being there on your own bike is so much better. Call today if you’re planning a rally. With our rally discounts, spots book up fast. Hope to see you at the next rally.

Vegas MidAmerica Auction Makes History

January 13, 2009

Nothing says welcome back to Wisconsin like -10 degree wind chills. Just got back from a 16-day stay in sunny Vegas for the MidAmerica Motorcycle Auction. The highest bid in Vegas went to a 1912 American Package for $80,000. That still doesn’t beat MidAmerica’s world record sale at a public auction last year. A 1915 Cyclone Board Track Racer OHC went for $520,000 in Monterrey.

Planning to head to an auction? Stop by and say hi at our booth. HaulBikes is the official motorcycle transporter for the MidAmerica Auctions and we always have a display there. Would be great to meet you.

Other big things that happened in Vegas were the New Year’s Eve motorcycle jumps – Robbie Knievel ‘s jump over the volcano at the Mirage and the Australian Robbie Maddison’s record breaking longest motorcycle jump of almost 100 meters (that’s 322 feet to you and me here in the US).

Stay warm.
